However, even if you're suffering from the symptoms of hay fever, it may not be a pollen or dust allergy. Allergic Rhinitis has the same symptoms but can have nothing to do with allergies!

In addition, reactions to Mold can produce similar symptoms but is actually far more threatening than normal allergies. Read about the symptoms below and then check out the two links that can help you be more confident in your diagnosis.

  • Begin in the spring, summer, or fall seasons. Gone during winter.

If the severity of your symptoms fluctuate depending on the characteristics listed above, then this a telltale clue that your hay fever is a reaction to pollen and not some other allergen.

How Long Do Your Symptoms Last?

  • Seasonal: Occurs primarily during spring, summer, or fall. This is indication that your allergies are caused by pollen and other airborne allergens.
  • Perennial: Occurs year round. Year round allergies are usually triggered by indoor allergens such as dust mites and pet dander, but become worse with the onset of hay fever season.

Long lasting allergies can lead to a number of additional symptoms such as nasal inflammation. See our nasal Nasal Inflammation for additional details and treatments.
